Termites are considered to be the silent killer. Termite pest treatment requires certified professionals and commercial grade pesticides. These pests can be wreaking havoc on your home while you are unaware of the damage.
Termite infestations lead to over $5 billion in property damage each year. Integrity is Tulsa Metro’s termite treatment specialist.
Termite Treatments: Which Termite System Is Best For Your Home?
Treatment should be recommended whenever live insects or other evidence is found, and there is no evidence of a previous treatment.
Also, different situations won’t be as clear.

Termite Treatments
If your home has subterranean termites or you’re safeguarding your home against these destructive invaders, Termidor or Exterra are the standards in subterranean termite treatment.
The only way to stop termites is an invasive process that requires the use of pesticides or baiting systems.
Until recently, termite treatment was exclusively Integrated Pest Management coupled with pesticides.
Our brand Exterra offers an alternative to this method. Whether through chemical barriers or baiting systems, a termite infestation is nothing to sit on when it comes to your home and property.
What to Expect from Integrity:
QP TRAINED INSPECTIONS

Structure issues occasionally reduce the effectiveness of treatments.
Hidden construction problems such as stucco extending below grade, insulation beneath the slab or below grade, embedded sills or grade stakes, debris under a dirt-filled porch, or a false foundation wall.
While it’s not always possible, it’s usually best to prevent termites from the onset by pretreating your home while it’s under construction with a new construction pretreatment.
PEST MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS

According to recent government surveys, wood destroying organisms (WDOs) cost billions of dollars each year just in the U.S.
This includes losses caused by fungi (decay) and wood-destroying insects (WDIs) and costs of related treatment and repairs.
Prevention of losses to WDOs depends on early detection of the moisture and humidity sources that make wood and other cellulose items (e.g., paper) susceptible to infestation and decay.
Reducing moisture puts stress on WDOs where they live and grow, and helps reduce or eliminate them.
Pest management professionals (PMPs) can use a powerful but often overlooked tool of integrated pest management (IPM) by recognizing the signs and then eliminating, or limiting as much as possible, sources of moisture or high humidity in structures.

Termite Inspections
When worrying about how you’re going to identify the type of termite that might be infesting your property, remember that only one type of termite lives in Oklahoma: Subterranean. There are three vulnerable points in every home that allow for termite entry into it: basement, crawl space, & slab. There are five basic castes of termites:
King & Queen – The reproductive termites that establish new colonies. The sole purpose is to reproduce.
Workers – Blind, wingless termites build the castle and are the most likely to be seen in an infestation. They create, repair, & forage.
Nymphs – Newly hatched termites that haven’t differentiated yet. They can molt into workers or reproductives.
Soldiers – These wingless, blind termites have one purpose, to defend the termite colony.
Winged Reproductives – They can travel to new locations and start new colonies.

How do you know if you need a termite inspection?

- There is a temporary swarm of winged insects in your home or from the soil around your home.
- You see cracked or bubbling paint or termite droppings.
Hollow wood. - Mud tubes on exterior walls, wooden beams, or in crawl spaces.
- Discarded wings from swarmers.
Why Should You Be Worried?
Termites cause billions of dollars in damage each year. While buildings may become infested at any time, termites are of particular importance when buying or selling a home.
A termite inspection/infestation report is usually a condition of sale. Besides the monetary impact, thousands of winged termites emerging inside one’s home can be emotionally trying.

Termite FAQs
Prevent costly damage by learning about termites before they strike.
How Do I Know if Have Termites?
Discovering winged termites indoors almost always indicates an infestation warranting treatment.
Prevent expensive damage to your home or business by paying attention to the following:
What are common termite locations?
Often there will be no visible indication that the home is infested.
Termite infestations can go undetected for years, hidden behind walls, floor coverings, insulation, and other obstructions.
What Are Termite Swarmers?
There’s a good chance the house is infested if termites are seen emerging from the base of a wall or adjoining porches and patios.
Other signs of infestation are earthen (mud) tubes extending over foundation walls, support piers, sill plates, floor joists, etc.
Does damaged wood mean I have termites?
Ants swarm at the same time of year.
Termites can be differentiated by their straight antennae, uniform waist, and wings of equal size. (Ants have elbowed antennae, constricted waists and fore wings that are longer than the hind wings.)
What are Termite Tubes (Termite Highways)?
Termites construct these tubes (termite highways) for shelter as they travel between their underground colonies and the structure.
To help determine if an infestation is active, the tubes may be broken open and checked for small, creamy-white worker termites.
